As the largest city in the South West, it follows that Bristol is home to a bustling community with people of all ages and interests living in the city.

There is an endless amount to do at night in Bristol and the following is just a few of the options on offer:

The Bristol Hippodrome is the main theatre in Bristol and is no stranger to many West End and Broadway productions; it even hosted the premiere of Mary Poppins. Many people come from outside of the city to enjoy the productions put on at the Hippodrome. The Tabacco Factory is another popular haunt that puts on a variety of shows, many with a Shakespearian theme.

If your tastes run in a different vein, there are many mainstream and alternative cinema venues in Bristol including the Arnolfini and Watershed which are situated by the harbour. These offer screenings of more alternative 'world cinema'.

Comedy Clubs are also a popular choice of evening entertainment in the city and one of the most notable of these is Jongleurs where it is often possible to see big name talents as well as many upcoming entertainers.

Bristol is very well known for its live music scene and this is a big attraction both to outsiders and those living in the city. Colston Hall is the largest venue for live music in Bristol and regularly hosts concerts by the biggest and most popular names in music. In the past both the Beatles and Rolling Stones have played here. St Georges in another venue in the city and is renowned for its phenomenal acoustics. It is possible to see a range of artists here playing anything from Jazz to Classical music.

It goes without saying that there are also a huge number of bars, nightclubs and restaurants in Bristol. A good number of these are centred on the harbour side, in Park Street, Corn Street and the Old City.
